Hi,
I am asking this because this has never happened to me before.
Jpg files are changing colors in CMYK color mode and turning muddy instead of maintaining their original colors.
I don't recall this happening to me before, usually, when I would place a Jpg file in my CMYK document its colors would remain the same as they would be in RGB.
Any answer would be appreciated.
Thanks and Best Regards.

RGB color space has a wide range of color than CMYK. If you want to place an RBG jpg into cmyk document , convert the jpg file color mode to cmyk in photoshop before placing it inot the cmyk document.

What Mohammed said is correct, a color change is to be expected when coverting from RGB > CMYK.
You may check what your View > Color Settings are.

Hi, I am not converting. This is just a jpg image that is downloaded from the internet and whenever I place it in a CMYK document, it becomes dull in color.
What seems to be the issue?

You may not be converting, but Illustrator does.
You cannot have RGB elements in a CMYK document, Illustrator converts them to the document color mode.
