I am using FontExplorer 7.0.1. If I create a document in Illustrator CC Legacy (2018) my fonts auto activate. I upgraded to Illustrator CC2020 and now my FontExplorer doesnt want to auto activate. Can anyone suggest a remedy. My Font explorer shows as being the latest version and I can't see any other plugins available.

Thanks

It was easy. I just needed to go to plug in Manager in Illustrator. There all the plug ins come with activation boxes but this version didn't set the plug in as active as a default. So one click and it was sorted. Doh!

Auto activation is the responsibility of the font management developer. I'm not sure if their recent update has kept up with your current build of Illustrator, but often developers lag a bit behind thier parent application's updates. I'm sorry to send you there, but this is something you'd want to take up with FontExplorer, themselves.
