Font "forgets" it shape when outlined.

I am having a similar issue with outlined fonts that originally posted here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/issue-with-outlined-text-in-illustrator-help/m-p/11091474...

BUT, the solution did not work for me. And it is only happening with one font. Encode Sans Semi-Bold.

This is what the font looks like in the outline view.

This is what it looks like in Preview mode.

 

And to add insult to injury, every time we open it or move it looks different even though it's grouped.

The other designer on the project is also having issues. This is what he saw.

What kind of bevel effect? The 3D effect?
