My fonts list is having serious issues with Source Sans Pro for quite a while now. I do not have SSP installed in Fontbook, and only through Adobe.

The fonts don't stay in one set and they seem to multiply each time I use one and create new sets. See photo below.

Can you select one that has the TrueType label and apply it to text? Then go to Window > Document Info and select Font Details. This will show the location on your hard disk. It may be useful to have only one version of the font installed to avoid that they are behaving like rabbits.
