Gausian blur gets compressed after reopening

Using CS6 I could uncheck compression in the save-as box. It allowed gausian blurs to be manipulated again after reopening the same file later. Now I use the cloud and when i reopened a file the blur was compressed. It could not be changed. What do i need to do to fix this? very frustrating.

If you select the object and go to the appearance panel you can't edit the blur? I am able to do so without a problem.

Right CS6 just allowed me to uncheck compression in the save as window and that allowed me to edit blurs. I recently got the new update and can’t seem to edit blurs

And do you save as the newest?

If you open a document from an older version and edit that document, it will try to save as that older version. Some editing features may get lost.

If you open the file in CC 2020 and the blur is still editable, save it as Version Illustrator 2020.

But if you did save as pdf in CS6, you may not be so lucky.

Thanks,
I will give it a try.
I think it is the compression that messes it up. So I unchecked the PDF box…in the file handling box in preferences.

There is no PDF box in the Preferences > File handling

Can you make a screendump of these options?

This is what I mean.
The “Yes” jpg shows the shapes even though they are blurred. They are editable.
The “No” jpg doesn’t show the shapes. The shapes are just indicated in boxes and they can’t be edited.

YES these blurs are indicated as their shapes and can be edited.

NO.. the blurs are indicated as boxes and cannot be edited.

The PDF option only is used for copy and paste using the clipboard.

What if you save the file in your Yes image as an Illustrator 2020 file on your local desktop?

Your screendump shows a Preferences  Clipboard section with a PDF checkbox.

You are now referring to an option during saving. Yes, Create PDF Compatible file is an important option and should be checked to be able to open/place the file in other applications.
