Hello, I really need help with Adobe Illustrator on Mac. When I press Option key, the textbox on the artboard appears with such SVG code:
<!-- Generator: Adobe Illustrator 21.1.0, SVG Export Plug-In -->
x="0px" y="0px" width="0px" height="0px" viewBox="0 0 0 0" style="enable-background:new 0 0 0 0;" xml:space="preserve">
The SVG code is different, as I understood, due to my drawing progress.
Once I press Option key by accident while using tools it is not involved in, e.g. Pen tool, the SVG code appears and continue appearing with the next presses of the Option key even where it has to be used, like while zooming.
It becomes impossibly annoying to delete textboxes after each move or action.. and I don't know how to fix this, no such issues found.
Waiting for your responses!
What exactly are you doing step by step?
Which tools are you using exactly?
Please show a screenshot.
Adobe Illustrator version 21.1.0
MacOS Sierra ver. 10.12
1. New document
2. Choose Pen Tool
3. Start drawing with Pen tool
4. Press Option key while that
5. SVG code as textbox appears, interrupting drawing process
During drawing SVG code can appear again even without pressing Option key, especially while difficult operations or importing big pictures
6. Zooming using Option key
7. SVG code appears again.
After some time the Artboard looks like this:
SVG code appears in selected system input language, mine are both English and Russian.
So I actually have problem with shortcut:
Pen Tool-Option (Alt) whilst creating bezier curve: splits curve (unhinges handles).
I fixed the problem.
I reinstalled MacOS and after that immediately without opening Illustrator deleted the application called Punto Switcher, which is working with hotkeys and probably had some influence on AI. My fault, I didn't check it earlier, but I hope my issue will help somebody with the same conditions.
Tengo un problema similar, intento copiar una forma de un archivo ai. a otro archivo ai. me aparece todo ese código. No se si tengan alguna solución, no realicé ningún cambio en la computadora.

Try and uncheck the SVG option in Preferences > File handling and Clipboard
