Hello,
The gradient on my image in Illustrator didn't print.
When I go to reopen the file, I get the warning that says "the document contains PDF objects that have been reinterpreted; an unknown shading type was encounterd."
In the print dialog under "graphics", I've tried ticking the box "compatible gradient and gradient mesh printing" as I've read that other people had success once they ticked this box, however this box is greyed out so I'm unable to tick it. The two options in that same section (post script and data format) are also greyed out.
I'm not sure if any of these three issues are related or not. I'm VERY new to all things adobe.
OS - MacOS Catalina 10.15.5
Illustrator version - 24.2
Brand new Canon TA-20 printer (I haven't installed any specific software drivers for the printer because there aren't any on their website for this specific printer. Not sure if that's part of the problem or not?
Hoping someone can shed light on these issues if they're related or not.
Thanks in advance!
Can you open it in Acrobat (Reader or DC) it previews correctly too? Then try to print it from there.
I do not know that printer, I would suggest you to call Canon support to know about proper installation of the printer .
If it were a PostScript one, those options should be available.

Thank you so much Federico! Printing from Acrobat worked 👍 Now I'm not sure if I even like the gradient or not 😆 but at least I know how to print from Acrobat now as I didn't know about that before. Much apprecaited!
