I am new to illustrator. I am trying to color a section of an image with a gradient, but I need the gradient to be going vertically rather than horizontally. In the past I could change it by adjusting the angle in the gradient properties panel, but it is not working this time. Does anyone know another method I could try, or a way to fix this?
It appears that the gradient is applied as part of a Live Paint group. Go to Object menu > Live Paint > Expand, then ungroup (Object > Ungroup or cmd/ctrl + shift + G) TWICE. You can then select just the portion with the orange gradient and adjust its angle. If you wish, you can select everything and resume work with the Live Paint Bucket.
