Half-point increments (i.e. 1.5, 2.5) in stroke weight unavailable in Illustrator

I'm working with some documents I need to change the stroke on, from 1 point to 1.5 point, per my client's instructions. In the video they sent, they are able to choose 1.5 point in the latest version of Illustrator, but on mine the increments are 1, 2, 3.... (and some increments below 1). I've tried everything I can think of, including creating new documents to be sure I'm using a print profile, etc. Any ideas?
