Hi guys, I would love some help... Suddenly now when I create illustrations and try and save them, it seems like the file has been saved (no errors or such pop up), but the file is nowhere to be found on my pc.

I lost a couple of projects like that... 😞

Has it happened to anyone? Is there a solution?

Thanks 🙂

Which version you are working on?!
By the way, The bug we know is a problem when you are saving and error message appear in Ai 2020, you can save it as PDF editable, open it again and save it as Ai file.
But everything is OK and the file disappear, I think it is a virus on you pc.

Can you please answer the questions before you erase your harddisk because of fear of virus?

Version and system and also the location where you save the files?

Not erasing anything yet 😕

I work on illustrator 2020 on windows 10, and I save the files in a folder on my desktop.

I hope that answers your questions. I'm kinda new at this

When updating Illustrator to that version, did you also update the preferences?

When was the last time you rebooted the computer?

Can you also check the Preferences > File handling and clipboard and see if it gets better when you turn off "Save in background"?

Is there text in your file?

Linked images?

Does Illustrator have full disk access privileges?

Could it be that you are saving them as cloud documents? They are not saved locally.
