Help! Stroke align options are greyed out when I select a path!

I don't really understand how it happend... this looks much more, like a bug, rather than an app specific. 

Align options are greyed out when I select a path I just created. 

However, as soon as a deselect it, they become avalible again. 

I've looked at a couple similar issues, but it their case was that they've been dealing with group strokes, which is definitely not my case.

Does anybody know why is this happening?

Because it is a open line and not a closed shape, there is no inside or outside.

In order to align your stroke ,you can use a variable width profile.
