How can I save my Image with no Background in Illustrator?

Hi, I am newbiwe on Illustrator and created a new illustration for my site but the issue is that the background of the image is not transparent. I want a no background image to be posted on my website. How can I acheive this? Thanks.

Without any info on what settings you used and ideally of course at least a screenshot of your artwork nobody can tell you much. By default AI's canvas is "transparent", but of course specific options need to be enabled on export and procedures followed in preparing the art. in any case, you have to provide more information.
