How do I change the colour of a pattern?

Hi,

Very new to AI, as you can tell from the question!  I've just downloaded the Bold Geometric Patterns Set, and I can't figure out how to change the patterns from black to another shade, please help?

If you're using the Edit Color Panel you must uncheck the black color as shown in this picture below. Just in case the colors change after you click it, just click the button reset.
