At the moment I use a MacBook pro with an additional large monitor for my work. No problems. But I recently got large Illustrator files. This is because they are large assignments, large format with many objects. A file of 150 MB or more. I save the file without the PDF option so that saving is faster.
However, if I try to save a PDF of a large file there, everything crashes. Memory shortage on the mac.
I am considering buying an imac. What hardware do I need to work properly? i5 or i7? Is 32 GB of internal memory sufficient?
