hi so sorry if none of this makes sense. i have only recently downloaded illustrator and yesterday i created a map, imported into IS, outlined the strokes and it looked perfect, but the strokes were not thick enough so i had to recreate the map which is fine. but the problem is now, i cant remember the steps to get to where i was yesterday. now when i try to outline the overlapping lines the it just looks horrible and i need to get it to where i have clear vector lines for laser cutting

i know im missing steps somewhere or on the wrong track but i cannot for the life of me figure it out. please help
