Hi, I'm trying to create a 3d image of a client logo. So I've created a .png in Photoshop and imported it into Illustrator. When I hit 3d > extrude and bevel it does do it but it takes everything from the image placed i.e it has the rectangular background rather than the elements themselves (see attached).

What I want to do is extrude and bevel the text only. I'm hoping it's something simple but can't work it out I'm afraid. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You will need the text as a vector shape.

Illustrator still expects paths.

So that's what you have to provide.
