 Hi, can anyone help me get a Union Jack on this part of the helmet here? What would I have to do? TIA

 

(very new to illustrator so feel free to idiot proof it for me)

In that case you can just bulge that Union Jack using an envelope distort and then apply theblue shape as a clipping mask to it.

You're welcome.

 

You'll find them both in the Object menu. The envelope is pretty straightforward to use and one of the prefabricated styles might just get you where you want. The clipping mask is slightly more difficult
