I'm trying to color something I traced with the curvature tool, it's not working right.

Hello! I'm trying to color a tree I traced with the curvature tool, but it's not working. It only has the color partically inside the tree, but some of the color is outside it, I don't want that. 

I'm going to add before and after pictures to show you what I'm talking about. 

 

Any suggestions? If so, thank you!

That is the normal behaviour of open paths with fill.

 

I believe you will like the Shape Builder Tool.
