I am trying to creat a "3". On the bottom rounded portion, I have drawn 2 line segments which intersect the circle where I would like to cut it, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it. I have browsed hepl topics and Google to no avail, so I'm here. Please help!

When I use the shape builder, selecting the ellipse and the 2 line segments, then alt+click, it erases the entire circle. I want the part of the circle that is part of the 3 to remain, and to remove the other portion as well as the 2 line segments.

Nevermind, I had shortened the line segments to meet the circle perimeter. When I extended them this worked, thanks!
