I need to take text that is in different layers to new textbox all in one layer

 How do I move this text all seperated in different layers, to a new text box that all the text is in the same layer?

It is fragmented type.

What happens if you select all with the Selection tool and copy the selection, take the Type tool, draw a new text box and then paste it into it?

It still stays fragmented! I just want to be able to combine everything into one layer /:

Failing any of the clever suggestions (present and possible future ones), you might consider software OCR (instead of using your own and start typing); or just laugh at the very thought.
