I want to convert a blend shadow into an object

Hi all

I have made a shadow for some text using the blend tool.

I want to use this shadow as a object that I can subtract a circle from. Is this possible?

Otherwise should I draw round it and make an object that way? (I don't actually know how to do this!)

Object > Bland > Expand Then use the pathfinder panel (top row, left button) You will probably not be happy with the result (too many anchor points). Or maybe it doesn't work at all, because there are just far too many shapes. Unfortunately this method of creating shadows still gets advertised everywhere without pointing this out. If you plan is to export the artwork as a vector image, then just don't do it. Pixels are OK. If all you need to do is mask it, use an opacity mask. And then u...
