I then take the masks into Poliigon's Upholstry Generator. There is a video of this generator on youtube. Is it okay to post the link here? How should I post a youtube link? Thanks

bmkjernisted,
You can use the Insert video button at the top of the Reply box.
And you can use the Insert Photos button to show the kind of mask you intend to use, so helpers can know what to help with.

And also please tell us what exactly gives you trouble.

Exactly what do you need to know?
Which process? This is 8 minutes of video and we don't even know your question.

bmkjernisted,
As I (mis)understand it, you wish to know how to create a customized weave.
Can you show a representation of the kind you have in mind?
A scan or photo of a sketch on paper perhaps.

Hello Monika and Jacob. I was not exact enough about the place in the video you have to watch. It is between the 2:38 and 3:00 minute mark where he talks about "custom weave." It could be any repeatable pattern such as an equilateral cross or circles or such. He talks about a black and white pattern. That is what I need to create in illustrator. A "mask" that can be imported into the upholstry generator. This is explained fully within the 22 second part of the video. Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Thanks.

So the pattern is going to be woven, not printed?
In order to design it, you might try if working with a rigid grid of squares can work. Just color it in in the pattern you want to weave.
But actually I think you will need a solid background on weaving.

Thanks Monika and others. I have worked things out. All I need for my needs is a black and white pattern. No need to create a mask. Have a good rest of the week.

For my part you are welcome, bmkjernisted.
