Illustration image distortion problem

A random black triangle appears on my screen over my file. This occured prior to doing a update. It is now worse after the update. Here is an image of what it looks like:

No idea what is causing this distortion and all I want to do is swap out one image. Please help.

Thanks Bob. In my haste and panic, I typed 'Illustration' instead of
'Illustrator' so I should have posted it to the Illustrator forum. Sorry.

Does it get better with View > Preview on CPU?

If that makes it vanish, then you could try if there's an update to your graphics driver available.
