Hi, problem with Illustrator 2020, existing PDF files are not overwritten by Illustrator. In connection with "Save and view PDF" the existing, old file is displayed and opened. File as PDF can only be saved if old file is deleted first. Does anyone know a solution?

Hi Heino,

Sorry about this issue. We are able to replicate this issue at our end and our Product team is looking into it.
Till the time it is fixed, you may continue using 24.0.1 or simply use Save function instead of Save As. Few other users have confirmed that giving permissions from system preferences has also fixed the issue. You may also, try the steps shared here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/unable-to-overwrite-pdf-in-illustrator-24-0-2-on-macos-ca...

As Monika confirmed there is a request raised on Illustrator UserVoice, I would request if you can upvote the issue by clicking on the link shared by Monika and then click on Vote.
This is the best way of communicating with the Engineering and Product Management teams regarding issues and suggestions so they can be implemented in future releases.

Regards,

Rishabh
