When GPU Performance is turned on Illustrator begins lagging.  After adding a few simple shapes to a new document Illustrator will crash.  This also occured two updates ago.  There was an Illustrator update with close timing to a new NVIDIA driver so I wasn't sure which one resolved it.

AMD 3900x

RTX 2070 Super - GeForce Driver 451.67

Hi Christopher,

Sorry to hear about this trouble. Looks like either the Graphic card is not supported or it's not updated. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • When the graphic card was updated last time.
  • When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates or web extensions installed recently.
  • Are you using any external/ secondary monitor?
  • How much is the RAM and VRAM installed on your machine?

You may also try updating GPU driver from manufactures' website (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-driver-autodetect) and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Srishti
