Illustrator 2020 asking to save files twice before closing on macOS

Anyone having any issues with the Illustrator 2020 saving funcvtion? If I press Command + S it should save, but then if I close the file it asks me to save again. It really is a time wasting exercise. I really thought this would be gone when updating to 24.1.2 but alas. Is there a setting that could fix this?

Mike

I just fixed it.

Illustrator > Preferences > File Handling and Clipboard...> "Save in background" must be unchecked.

I hope this helps others too.

Finally!!

So does Illustrator no longer support Esko?

I need my Esko plugins.

Can Adobe not find a way around this? Is the only solution here to remove plugins?

This seems ridiculous.

I will have to downgrade to Illustrator 2019. Adobe is going backwards instead of looking to the future.

Not what I expected.

Removing the Esko plugin to use Illustrator is like removing a wheel on your car because it was flat and then only driving on three wheels from now on.

It does not solve the problem.

There is still no fix for this problem. Esko, no Esko...nothing works. There have been updates since this question was asked and still no fix. It's obviously not top priority for Adobe. Besides, we need Esko. How can we just disable it. Makes no sense.
