Hi all,
in the recent update of illustrator I have found that when I use isolation mode, sometimes, an 'Isolation Mode' layer appears in my layer panel and the artwork I am managing moves to this layer. It's driving me nuts as I usually don't notice and then I have to rearrange my layers when I want to move selections forwards or backwards. Any ideas? I hate double handling!
Thanks, Jane
I have seen this when I copy something from isolation ode and paste it into a file.
Is that what you are doing? Does it help when you turn off "Remember layers"?

And this layer doesn't vanish when you're leaving isolation mode?
The layer panel has always shown this when in isolation mode.

Hi Monika, no, it doesn't vanish.
After leaving isolation mode, the layer remains in the layer panel with assets on that layer. I regularly have to move the assets back to the correct layer and delete the isolation mode layer.
I'm running the current version of illustrator on a decent mac that is up to date.

You're welcome.
This was the last straw. I'm glad it helped you 🙂
