Illustrator 25.01 lagging and freezing on MacBook Pro

I've just downloaded Illustrator 25.01 (after the previous 24.3 was freezing on me) and this is no better, even slower in fact. Every action I wish to do, even just zooming in and out makes it lag minimum of 5secs, it's very hard to work on and I have deadlines for clients.

I've reset my preferences and restarted Illustrator and it has changed nothing.

Any suggestions would be of great help as I'm really on a tight schedule for these deadlines.

What kind of machine is it? An M1?

 

Have you done the obvious? Deleting preferences?

Is there any effect when you turn off/on the GPU acceleration? Or the animated zoom?

Is the Dictation in the system preferences turned off?

What OS & model macbook pro? Enure you are meeting the system requirements

Is the Adobe cloud app downloading any more updates, as that can slow down the app. Do you have any free fonts installed? When is last time you ran  applications/utilities/disk utility to check/repair your drive.
