The Issue is from the Latest Windows Update from Friday.

I deinstalled Windows Update and deinstall Illustrator with Reinstallation of the latest Version. At least this worked with me. Windows Update KB5000802.

We had some issues with this Update in the entire organisation, mainly with printers, same as Andrea was reffering to.

I can't manage the option of the software; when I open Illustrator immediatelly windows restart.

I disinstalled Illustrator and re-installed but... nothing! Someone has the same problem? How I can resolve the problem?

Hi Andrea,

I am having the same problem and did what you did to try and fix it but nothing happened. I also found that it could be conflicting with a driver. I tried to print from a word doc and that blue screened and restarted my computer. SO it could be a windows 10 bug.

I have a desktop at home so I will be checking that tonight if it restarts that then it might be a windows 10 bug not an Adobe one.

Same Issue for me, Windows 10 and Illustrator 25.2.1.

It´s abit tricky to identify the root cause as next to Illustrator Windows and NVidia updated Fri/Sat/Sun.

But of course annoying and I was not able to fix it, even I tried to install previous versions.

I think I may have figured out what is causing it to restart our computers. Don't Update Illustrator from the last version you had as my desktop is completely fine and everything is up to date except my adobe programs. Compared to my laptop from early today. Hopefully, Adobe can fix this issuse.

Same issue for me too, tried installing previous versions but no luck. All other adobe apps are working fine though, just Illustrator. I also tried clearing the cache files as was recommended to me by Adobe but unfortunately that didn't work either

Do you mean that your personal printer was causing some sort of issue with Illustrator???  What did support tell you to do to correct the problem?

What can do this:

- generally some Windows updates mess with printer drivers

- reset the default printer

- update the printer driver

I agree. Every update brings an issue. Once you update the OS you need to update drivers...as well as Wacom drivers if you use it!

I completely  removed/uninstalled my printer and unplugged it.  It is not the printer for me.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator several times.  It's still unstable.  I will try working in the lowest version on Monday and hope it all goes well.  A coworker of mine can open my files in the lower version.  When I try to open them, Illustrator closes itself.  I updated my video card too.  No help.

Unplugging won't help. Illustrator looks for a printer when it opens a file and when it saves a file. If it can't find one, it tends to act funky.
