Illustrator CC 2021 and Indesign CC2021 crashes when opening

Both my Illustrator and Indesign (CC2021) crash when opening (Photoshop CC 2021 does open like normal). I can't seem to fix the problem, I have tried deleting and reinstalling the apps, but that doesn't seem to help. 

I have a macbook retina  (macOS Catalina 10.15.7). 

Does anybody know how to fix this issue?

Thank you for your answer. I have tried both, sadly still no succes. 

Using the keyboard shortcuts to restore preference setting nothing happens when opening illustrator, and it still crashes. With indesign, I get the question if I want to delete preference files, and I click yes, but then it still crashes... 

When looking for the preference files I get to Adobe Illustrator 25 > en_US I can't find the Adobe Illustrator Prefs file

While submitting the crash report please use the same email address, with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

Once done, please try steps suggested on this help article ( https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/crash-with-ttf-font.html) and let us know if it helps.
