I just wanted to report a bug which I just had and that I solved. It may help others!
I working on Illustrator 25.1 (windows) and my colleague was working on Illustrator 25.0 or older (Mac) and when we shared our Illustrator documents, if there were linked images in it, it would ask me to re-link the image. When clicking on the import panel my Illustrator was freezing and I was forced to close the software.
We both updated everything (I even re-installed) and everything was working again.
