Does anyone know why Adobe Illustrator does not save a PDFx4 correctly? Since a few weeks when I save a .ai file to PDFx4, it is not generated correctly. When I open this PDF in Acrobat it does not appear as PDFx4.
Do you know if there has been a problem with the new versions? I have returned to the 24.3 that before gave no problems and now it keeps giving me this error.
We have fixed the problem.
We do not know the reason for the change, maybe when the software, was updated but in the Edit menu - Color settings - settings: the Emulate Adobe Illustrator 6 option was activated.
This option does not allow saving PDFs as PDFx4.
We have changed this option for a custom one and now it works perfectly.
Anyway, thanks for the help
This is a recent bug occuring in combination with the last Photoshop update:

So when doing a Preflight check in Acrobat, the file doesn't show up as X4?

correct,
now I have seen that the version of Acrobat Pro (21) if you open the Distiller does not allow Distil as PDFX4, and if you try to load a PDFx4 joboption it gives an error.
Could the new version of Acrobat mistakenly not have the pDFX4 as a distiller option? I understand that it links to adobe applications.

Distiller cannot make PDF/X-4 since PDF/X-4 can contain transparency and Distiller can't produce that.
So you are using Distiller?
Please describe your file and what exactly you are doing stepby step.

I don't use Distiller, I use adobe illustrator.
When saving as PDF, there is the option to save as PDFx4 among other PDFx options.
Well, when saving as PDFx4, illustrator does not generate a PDFX4.
Until now there were no problems, we have been generating pdfx4 without problems with illustrator for more than 3 years.
My colleagues also have this problem. Either it is a error in Illustrator (I have version 24.3, my partner has a more recent version) or we thought that Illustrator could use the Distillier allogarithm, that's why this comment from Distiller.

When was the last time you rebooted the computer?
Try and uncheck "Save in background" in the preferences.
Do you save on the local harddisk? Or directly to a network, a synchronized folder etc.?
If it still doesn't work when saving on the harddisk, try and reset the preferences. Rename the folder so it can be reverted. https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html
