Hello,
I'm looking for an option to save my script variables between runs in Illustrator. Photoshop has an option for this called
putCustomOptions
But I can't find an equivalent for Illustrator? Is there a way to save variables between script runs, or better yet, between application runs?
Writing to a local .txt is not an option in this case..
There isn't an equivalent in Illustrator. The alternative is to write your preferences to the general Illustrator preferences file. Anything written in this file will survive a normal restart, but if illustrator crashes, your preferences will not be saved. Also, if the user resets the preferences manually, then all your preferences will get deleted as well.
