Illustrator freezing when trying to place an image or open file

I can't place any images in my file or open files in illustrator 2020, the program just freezes PLEASE HELP!!


It was working fine yesterday

I've uninstalled, installed

Got rid of preferences

Tried earlier versions and 2021 version nothing is working

At which point exactly does it crash?

When the dialog opens where you select a file?

Or after you have done that?
