Illustrator Pixel Preview LAGGY

I have just bought a brand new Macbook Pro 16 and while using Illustrator the first tome on it (coming from Windows) I immediately noticed that moving objects around and scrolling through the artboard is extremely laggy when PIXEL PREVIEW is turned on. I often use this for web design work.

Tried to install the previous Illustrator CC Version (2020)...still the same problem.
