Illustrator RGB values don't match PMS Coated RGB Values (in PMS Color Bridge Coated)

Hi all,

I've searched the Adobe forums and the web for ages, but am still unsure why this happens.

Here's the issue:

  • When I select the swatch in Illustrator, it starts off as 'book' (see attached).
  • Then, since I want the RGB values, I change it to 'RGB' (see attached).
  • Then when I look at the swatch book, I see that Illustrator's RGB is different to PMS swatch RGB (see attached).

So whenever I've created a CMYK palette, I have to manually make an RGB palette, typing in the values from the PMS book. This seems backwards and crazy for how advanced Adobe is in 2020. Am I missing something obvious here? Please halp if you have time, much appreciated! 🙂

Pantone converts the colors using sRGB and your color settings use Adobe RGB for the conversion.
