Illustrator running slow. I want to uninstall and reinstall will I lose my drawings

Illustrator is running slow. I want to uninstall and reinstall. Will my drawings be saved and in the reinstalled program?

Reinstalling has nothing to do with your files. of course it's advised that you copy them to a safe location/ create a backup, but the installer will only ever remove or overwrite the actual program files. At worst the preferences may get overwritten and then the file lists on the Welcome panel and in teh Recent Files list will disappear, but the actual files will still be on your disk.
