Illustrator Saving Odd Files and not allowing me to delete

Hi All, 

I am working in AI version 25.2 on Catalina, working remotely on the office server with through a vpn. 

We are getting these odd files they almost look like "temp" or back up files, but they end up with an .ai extension and it wont let us delete them. 

For example. 

I work on and save a file 

30 Parking Regulatory.ai

That saves AND I also get a file called

ai16195421664030 Parking Regulatory.ai

I cant delete the lower one, because the "files in use" We have like 400 of these now from the past month, but we have not been able to suss out why its happening.

Help please
