Illustrator Saving very Slowly, sometimes backwards

Ok,

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363, Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9880H CPU @ 2.30GHz, RAM 16.0 GB, NVIDIA Quadro P620 RAM 4.0 GB,  Drives: System SSD, Working on HDD, plenty of space.

So, the problem is that Friday saving in Illustrator worked perfectly fine, updated Windows after working day. Today... saving not only was a slow process, but it was returning to a smaller percentage. Like... from 9 > 15 > 24 > 69% then back to 15%. It even got backwards a few times per saving.

Everyone is waiting for me to finish some mockups. I use some images, linked, pdf compatible off doesn't seem to help too much.

Is "Save in Background" turned on in the preferences?

How large is the file?

What's in it? Linked files?

Is a printer installed, set up as the default printer and turned on? Printer drivers up to date?
