illustrator won't open

Illustrator won't open any files. It begins to open and then the dialogue box about recovered files pops up. I click ok and it just spins. Nothing opens.

I use illustrator every day, including this morning. This has never happened before. Help? I tried restarting my computer but nothing.

Did you try to reinstall Ai or reset Preferences.

How do I reset my preferences?

1. Windows users: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift as you start Illustrator.

AI will not get past spinning

uninstall

shut down

Repeat and repeat and repeat

AI will not get past spinning

Cannot launch new or a previous file

Latest Version of AI, obviously because it is a new install.
