Illustrator

I saved my files on illustrator few days ago. Now I can't open the files. The saved files have disappeared from my Mac. On illustrator it shows its either locked or in use. I checked my backup and all the folders on my Mac but still can't find it or open it. Please help.

Where did you save the files?

I saved it on a folder in my desktop. It's missing from the folder as well. I tried to search for it on the backup too. Such a file doesn't exist. It's so weird.

Do you use file synchronizing with some remote service?

If it can't be found there, then it might be gone.

No, I don't do it. Hmmm it's probably gone then.
