I imported 4 screenshots from my phone into Illustrator.  The one on the left is a jpeg, the 3 on the right are PNG's.  Why are the PNG's larger and have their colors inverted?Screen Shot 2020-08-19 at 6.02.18 PM.png

Hello.
Perhaps the PNG file is a 16-bit image?
Open it in Photoshop or other software and try to convert it to an 8-bit image.

I see.  How do I check the bit depth on an image on a Mac?

You can see it in the bit depth of the Preview.app inspector.
You can convert to 8 bits when you save a duplicate.

In Photoshop, you can go to "Image"> "Mode"

Voted for it!  That's kind of crazy that Illustrator hasn't caught up with this.  XD and InDesign seem to be handling the images just fine.
