Just for the heck of it, I blew up an artpiece to 2270x2270 inches, and when I tried exporting to jpeg I got this message: "unable to export at this resolution. Please lower the resolution and try again."
At this size, I got the same message when I tried exporting at 72ppi, 300ppi, and between.
Reducing the file to 227x227 inches, I got the same export messages for all standard resolutions.
Is there a limit to jpeg dimensions that may be exported from Illustrator? Or is there a way to get around this error and export giant files anyway?
Everything has its limits! A JPG can be up to 65,535 X 65,535 pixels. So at 300 ppi, that JPG would measure about 218" X 218 inches (approximately). At 72 ppi, obviously it would br much larger. So this sounds like a limitation of Illustrator itself. I've never had a need for such a large JPG, but you never know. By the way, I also receive the same error message with PNG.
