Launch window is stuck at "Initializing" and will not open

Hey everyone,

 

This happened quite suddenly because I was using Illustrator just fine yesterday, and all my other apps work as usual.

 

I'm trying to open my .ai file, and the launch screen won't change (screenshot attached). After a while the screen will disappear, and the app is unresponsive. I'll click on the app on the dock and nothing happens.

 

I've already restarted the computer and reinstalled the app. What's going on? What else can I do?
