Dear community.

When I select an object I want to move from one layer to another (essentially to a layer that visibility it turned off) I go about selecting the object in the working window, then using the dot in the layers pallet to move that selection to the other layer...I have found the selection of the object retains as if selected even if the layer is visibly off so to deslect that object i need to turn the layer on...click outside and them turn the layer off again which is a tedious process. I can't seem to find a way around this and appretiate any suggestions.

Do you mean the selection dot (square) or appearance target (round)?
As I can see once you have dragged to the hidden layer just click the selection dot again to deselect.
