Make Image Trace act like shape in order to use shape editor in Illustrator

Is it possible to make an image trace act like a shape so that the shape editor could be used with it?  I want to take a specific piece out of an image.  I already know about clipping masks but I don't want to use this way because it won't let me drag the part I clipped somewhere else after I clip it.

Try to use the click to target in layers to move the content inside the clipping, instead of click (or double click to enter the isolation mode). Please check the following video: ClickToTarget
