Hi all,
New to this particular forum. I traced a hand drawn black and white image, removed the white and now am "cleaning up" the image.
I have started removing points, using the smooth tool, as well as some simple reshaping. I have removed an intermidate point. Now the 2 remaining bezier handles are "flat" on one side. The handles indicate curvature, but its a straight line. Tried the anchor point tool to "reset" beziers but to no avail.
See attached screenshot and project file. The left side of the H ....
Did you delete it with the delete key? In that case Illustrator deletes the point by opening the path.
If you have Illustrator 2020 (24.2.1) you can Shift click the point using the Delete-Anchor-point-tool. Then it gets deleted and Illustrator tries to maintain the shape.

Sweet. That works beautifully. Any way to repair what is seen in the screen grab?
Thanks
John

Not really, since the methods would delete those handles. You can of course use the pen tool and try to keep the existing curves manually.
