Hey all, I hope you can help me with this:
I'm looking for a possibility to measure paths In Illustrator. What I want to do exactly is to measure the lenght of individual letters or words. How can I do this? I suppose I will have to manipulate the letters so that they're displayed in single paths through the middle line of the letters, not outlines. How would I do that? And how can I measure the paths then? Thank you in advance for your help!

Have you tried simply using the Measure Tool (bundled with the Eyedropper Tool)? You simply click at the beginning and end of the distance you want to measure and the result will appear in the Info Panel. Any angle you may be measuring at will be shown next to the actual distance as seen in the screen shot.

I also need the measurements of more complex and curved paths. found out that it is written in the document information. only need a way now to get single line fonts/letter now in an easy way, like this:
