Metadata issue on Document Title

My client uses metadata for all assets on their DAM system, but the Illustrator files are causing them some problems.

Illustrator does not allow the “Document Title” field in the metadata to differ from its file name.

"File name" may be an abbreviated info of Region, vertical, purpose, size and language,

while the "Document Title" field contains the complete description of the asset.

We save the desired information, but when we reopen the illustrator file, the field shows again the file name. Additionally, a pdf version is created, but the information pulled from the illustrator is not the desired one.

We had to manually enter the info in the “Author Title” to have the metadata included in the file. Then, manually enter the Document title in the pdf.

Too many steps for too many assets.  Any suggestions?

PS: InDesign DOES allow to save the metadata as we described and it also appears in the pdf version created from InDesign.

I don't know a workaround, but you can mention it here:
