We now have three versions of AI installed on our Windows 10 PC - 2021, 2020 and CC 2019. When AI is updated, it appears to sometimes install a new version. This is not a huge problem (we could pick one and ignore the other versions), but we have a cutting plotter installed and it is pretty tricky to configure. I'd rather not have to reinstall the plotter every time AI updates!
We are currently running (and have the plotter installed in) the one labeled 2020, version 24.3. It just updated the version it calls 2021 to version 25.1.
If I reinstall and configure the plotter in the latest version of AI, then force-delete the other two versions, will it then update that version, or will the updater install new versions in the future?
Thanks for your help!
On Windows it might get difficult when you install a newer version and after uninstall the older one. It might take some shared files with it.
What the Creative Cloud app does with old versions, can be configured in the Creative Cloud app itself. But it only applied to the major updates. The incremental ones overwrite/change the according version.

Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I agree with earlier responses. You can have multiple versions installed on your machine. If you do not wish to do that, you may uninstall the version you're no longer using.
You may follow instructions given on this help article to know how you can remove the old version while installing the new version.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Ashutosh
